So, I'm curious about how your buddy busks with a piano.

We live in a pretty small town that's also a tourist hotspot on the weekends, and he lives almost next-door to where we busk, so he pretty much just wheels it out of the door.

I've been busking for a fairly long time now, and my friend who is a pianist want to play with me tomorrow. Only problem is that whenever I play with fellow buskers it always seems to fail, and end with a very little ammount of money between us both. I attribute this partially to the songs we play, as I rarely play duets with my friends when we busk, as neither of us know very many. So, have any of you got any ideas for duets for a keyboard and an acoustic guitar?

About two weeks ago, I went busking. I usually go on Sundays, and normally I rack up about $50 for an hours worth of playing. This time I was there for three hours and it started raining.
I made 10 dollars, even though there was about 150 people around.
I was left feeling awful about myself, and my skill as a guitar player. Anyone had a worse time than me busking?

I know this has already been covered, but I'll ask anyway.....I live in Australia, Melbourne to be exact and Im curious if i need a licence to busk in the street. If i do how do I get one? Do I contact the local council or what? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated

to be perfectly honest it is not tasteful, nor good. It is about a friend of mine who asked me to write him a song so i wrote "Alastair is Gay."
I don't like the fact that i wrote something so tasteless, and I like it less that people like it.

I wrote a song, and I was in class today and my friend started playing it on his phone...now i went really red and on the brink of tears from embarressment because i dislike my singing. I've been told it's good, but is it okay to ask people not to play it because I'm not happy with it?

i'm sort of stuck in a rut here, I love playing guitar and I love music, but lately every time I pick my guitar up I just feel so uninspired to play (Mabye it's 'cos I've played every song in my song books) I play a lot of Bealtes stuff, but it just doesn't seem to be enough to make me WANT to play! Any suggestions how to get past this?

Chordpro error: This is not a valid artistname. You will have to specify an artistname in the form {st: Artistname} in the beginning of the code.

I don't really know what this is about...It just popped in my head.
Suggestions, Comments, anything I would appreciate.
P.S. Couldn't think of a chorus

I have been playing guitar for about 2 years and have never busked. I was wondering how many songs I might need to know and if 2 years is not enought time to have been playing to start busking?

I think this is true, personally, hip hop, techno and rap just doesn't feel like music to me It's just a lot of beeps.

Guitar requires more skill than clicking buttons for noise.

I have a problem, writing songs is a easy-ish but I'm restricted to chords because I'm hopeless at tabs! Anyway I'm just wondering which chords sound good together and which ones don't.
