Hi all,

I can't play much at all, but it's a great instrument. My great Uncle has one. Search for Ron Geesin, he's Semi famous. He also has the worlds biggest adjustable spanner collection.

Where excatly is that? It's a nice idea though, good luck with finding some band members.

Hi,

Try practicing half barres first. put your index finger over three of the strings, and move it around, try it on different frets. Then try a full barre and do the same thing. Also use different fingers.

Good luck!

Hi,

Good question! Try F add 9: Low E:1
                                             A: 3
                                             D: 5

I find it easy now, but I used to find it a very difficult stretch. Use fingers 1, 3 and 4.
Good luck!

Hi all,

I own a perfectly good Squier Strat,  and on the pickup closest to the neck, and with the sixth string, I have a small problem. From fret 11 and higher, the string vibrates and against the sticky-out bit of the pickup and sounds bad. Please help!

Thanks to any one who knows what to do,

Will

Hello there everyone,

I live in Cambridge, England, in a lovely little big little village. I started playing guitar when I was 11 on 2nd Novembember '04, an I'm Grade three. My main role model is Noel Gallagher. I'm starting Grade four soon. This is a cool thread. I thinkthat's what you call it...

Great website! I hope you all believe in ghosts!

Hello everyone

That's right, you can contact spirits through music. Ask them what song they like, and ask them to tap three times or something. Better than a ouiji board, hm? And you don't need a liscence. Go on, go to a haunted location and TRY it. I haven't yet, but I will. I'm training to be a Parapsychologist.

G'luck

PS: BOO!

PPS: Sorry for having a rant at Roger Guppy or whoever but you said something out of order, and I do get angry.

Hi Kathy,

It can mean two things:
-You miss out the note but keep strumming, JUST to keep rythm.
-Or, you mute the note, meaning you put your left or right (probably left) hand over the string to muffle it. If you use the palm of your right (or left if you're left handed) over the strings near the bridge, this is called palm muting, and should say PM.

Hope this helps! wink

PS: Want to be friends?

We are not out to rule the world really just wanna have some fun. But we really do wanna gig this time. If interested e-mail only to marcdancaster@yahoo.co.uk

I actually know someone who thinks he can play bass (sorry it's a he), who happens to go by Sussex a lot. As for myself I live in Cambridge, and go to Sussex about every 2 months. I'm not a vocalist or bassist so there you go that's just life. Oh, wait, my Granddad is a great bass player and singer! No, it wouldn't work though.

Hi there hopeful,

My name originates from the fact that I am training to be a  parapsychologist (paranormal), and I'm a guitarist (guitar). There you go.
Will you be my friend, I don't have any on Chordie. Is that even possible? Myeh never mind.
If you want, disregard me and/or annoy m I don't care.

I live in a lovely village in Cambridgeshire, and there's a whole bunch of places we can practice. I do warn you most of them are haunted. I'm getting better every day, I'm 13 going on 14, and I break up from school mid- July.
