Really, you should have a knowledge of the song. Listen to it, sing the words and find the rhythm. That's if you want to play it like the artist. Otherwise you could just play around with it till you like it.

Re: SINGERS AND SINGING (29 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
I used to get a lot of compliments about my voice, but within the past year after a few sore throats I have noticed a big difference in my ability. In fact I just bought a zoom h4n and recorded myself and was completely embarrassed from what I heard. I am upset about it as the compliments I used to get were sincere. I have to look up what nodules are, but I fear I have strained my voice beyond repair. : (
But I LOVE singing along with my guitar.

Hey guys, I agree with both of you that NASCAR isn't really a sport....I just didn't want to say cause SOME of those fans are FANATICAL! You know like pro wrestling is real fanatical. Golf is hard, but I'm not sitting at a bar with chicken wings and beer to watch the Masters. MMA is definately gaining in popularity, I just can't get into it but that doesn't make a bit of difference one way or the other.
Its football all the way...we even watch the draft! : )

Re: Your most disappointing guitar... (45 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
I was in a Sam Ash years ago and saw a guitar on clearance for no lie...13 dollars. It was a Carlo Robelli... well worth the money for a guitar that cheap, but you know what it was. A piece of garbage. I still have it though.

Re: THE MOST IMPORTANT SPORT IN THE USA (36 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
In the US, IMO:
1. Football
2. Baseball
3. Basketball
4. Hockey
I agree with this one. NASCAR is probably right ther two possibly ahead of Basketball...even though some believe it is the biggest. I still say Football GO BUCS!!

Keep practicing. Try not to "cheat" if you can help it. You will get it, and when you do you won't even remember how hard it was.

Thanks a lot. I have been thinking about this amp and I really wanted to hear from someone who actually had it. I may have to go ahead and purchase one myself. Thanks again for the input.

Yeah Arkady,
I guess I'll have to try different techniques with my singing or go the instrumental route : )
The Zoom H4n is very nice so far though, at this time I would recommend it...I'll get something on the web soon...even if its just a quick cover toon or an improv to show the sound quality.

Re: For Recording Virgins (30 replies, posted in Recording)
Got the Zoom in the mail...it seems very easy to use.
I just tried it out without any adjustments and the sound is really quite good.
The guitar sounds great, no noise from the machine....my voice however is a problem all its own and nothing to do with the machine.
Once I get something of showable quality I'll try to post a sample.

Sure will, the website I ordered it off of was about that price as well, but they break it down to 3 monthly payments. So I thought was pretty cool.

Re: For Recording Virgins (30 replies, posted in Recording)
Hi and thanks for all the great info...I just have a question or 2 because with all the info out there it tends to get a little confusing. I just want to record my acoustic and my vocals, possibly a harmonica. I downloaded audacity and I am looking into getting a USB or Firewire interface. My question is will the interface cut out all that hissing I used to get when I tried going through my old pc's soundcard? and do I go to the interface from an acoustic amp or straight from my guitars electronics? I appreciate everything you all post on this sight, thanks again.

Re: What kind of guitar do you have? (240 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
Ive gotten myself an Alvarez AD60SCBK. Its a nice shiny black and plays like a dream!
I also have AD60sc, mines not black though. I love this guitar.
I also have an older Tele (usa made) sunburst...when I was younger i listened to Bruce Springsteen and Waylon Jennings respectively...gotta love the Tele.
I have 3 other cheapies, but they served their purpose for me. I'd love to get a nice Taylor or Martin, and a baritone and resonator of some kind.
