I am also a learner.  Bought the Guitar for Dummies book and have learned the following chords:

A, Am, C, D, Dm, E, Em, G, F, A7, C7, D7, E7, G7

It astounded me how fast you can pick up the chords.  I just keep practicing them now so I can remember them by heart and trying to learn a few songs (which I am finding hard).

My fingers hurt like mad at the beginning but are coming around now.  I dont know if I'll ever be any good at switching chords between songs but I enjoy trying and can spend hours at it.

I also bought an automatic tuner as not too good at tuning by ear.

I have just taken up guitar playing.  I know about 15 chords and 'John Denver - Leaving on a Jet Plane'.  I am trying now to learn a few different songs and get the hang of changing between chords quickly but I dont know if I'll ever get the hang of it.  When I watch other people play it seems to come so easy to them, but I find it quick difficult.  Does it just take loads of practice?  My calluses are also coming along nicely now too!!!!

I bought a Tanglewood Seagull guitar 2 weeks ago.  I am only a beginner and learning to play.  Are these good guitars.  I took a guitar player with me to buy it and he said it had the best sound of the ones he tried in the shop.
