The saddle fell out while changing the strings in my acoustic electric. Do the bass strings
cross the tall end of the saddle or the steel strings? I'm still a newbie.

How do you describe "WOW" ? I am looking for a more softer, mellow, woodsie tone. Something on
the other end of bright if you know what I mean. My vocals are soft.

There are discussions on the net that the 12AX7 tubes in most preamps are inferior and should be replaced with a better brand of tube.I am looking for a warm sounding vocal/instrument two channel preamp. I plan to purchase a PreSonus DP two channel Preamp. Any comments or recommendations or is there any truth to the word on the net.

Re: new acoustic guitar (21 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
I have been playing acoustic electric for four years, I was in your same situation not knowing what to buy. I talked to a friend of mine who has been playing all his life 60 years I guess. he scounted around at a few music stores and called me one day and said he had found the ideal beginer guitar. I love it. I went to the store and bought it off the wall. It is a YAHAMA
FGX720SCA. It required no set up, sounds beautifully, excellent tone. The Mohogany back and sides gives a real soft acoustic sound. The workmanship and apperance is as good as it gets. For a beginner I highly recommend the Yamaha.

Zurf, You may be right, It may be just a gimmick. Doug, I received the acoustic VOX cables
yesterday, I plugged into my A/E FGX720 Yamaha and my 30w Kustom acoustic amp and it was a reality check for me. It produced what I was looking for. A very acoustic sound. Doug,

Re: Mic cable adapters (confusion) (10 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
Selecting the proper guitar strings for my acoustic electric has been my most difficult
learning curve during the past three years. Someone about has to be a metallurgist to understand the lingo phosphor bronze, bronze, 80/20, silk & steel I could go on and on.
My question is. I am looking for a string that has a good woodsie, mellow soft tone, everything I have tried has been real bright. Trying to match my vocals close as I can. Any one have any suggestions. I had the correct string at one time, but don"t remember the name or kind. Can anyone help. Thanks Gerald

With only three years in the guitar hobby field, I am confused regarding which mic adapter I need. Have read several reviews and have been truly confused by all of the reviews. I thought it would be simple to purchase a simple adapter. HEAR IS WHAT I NEED TO DO.
my Fender M-80 amp has a 1/4 mic cable opening, I need to be able to plug a three prong
mic cable into it. There are a lot of various mic cables on the market out there and I am not knowledgeable of all the technical lingo associated with purchasing a simple adapter so I can it on my present amp. Can anyone help? Please. Note: I have been using the amp with a 1/4
in. male end in the past. I just have a need to change the type of cable I now am using.

Topic: Standard Notation music (11 replies, posted in Electric)
I have what seems to be a stupid question to ask. But, I have been playing acoustic
for nearly four years. I am now trying to learn the electric guitar in standard music notation. I can read music, trying to learn the notes on each string in each fret. But, my question is how do you determine the key to play a song in. There are two or more of the same note in the first twelve frets. I may just be having a mental block. Need some awakening I guess. help.
