Topic: What songs did you learn early??

As a beginning player I'm curious, what were some of the songs you found easy to learn when you were just starting.

Re: What songs did you learn early??

Try pretty much any AC/DC riff, they use really simple chords and sound cool.

Re: What songs did you learn early??

1. X-Static - Foo fighters (Super easy to play, only uses the top 4 strings - Very power-chordy)
*****THIS WAS THE SONG THAT STARTED ME OUT PLAYING ELECTRIC GUITAR!!*****
***THANK YOU DAVE GROHL!!***

2. Melon Yellow - Slowdive (super easy repetitive riff with gobs of reverb and echo)
3. Christmas time is here - Vince Guaraldi (The tabs not the actual chords hehe)
4. I got id - Pearl Jam (Easier than it sounds, believe me)

If you like  distorted guitar try something like Should I Stay or  Should I  go  - the Clash or 500 miles  - the Proclaimers and if you can play  barre  chords then try Teenage Kicks the Undertones   all pretty  easy but effective

Re: What songs did you learn early??

Long Gone-Syd Barrett
In Bloom-Nirvana
Jane Says-Jane's Addiction

Learn a couple basic chords; G, E, Em, C, D, Dm, A, Am, A7, G7....That'll really help you out, and you'll start picking up on the chords you hear in songs.

What really helps me get better is just sitting down for an hour and trying to figure the song out the best i can, then i go and look up the tabs and chords
