Re: Who is your guitar hero?

I haven't seen one person even write Eddie Van Halen. He is a god for the 70, and 80's rocker. He started out on piano and prgressed to the guitar the guy is a genious! Not knocking any of the others mentioned they are awesome too, also how about Chic Correa, Al Dimeoli???

Re: Who is your guitar hero?

Eric Johnson is an outstanding guitarist, superb!

My case CCR Neil Young, I am not saying you that they are really great players, BUT they putted a soul in their work

Re: Who is your guitar hero?

If you like originality and absolute brilliance than Jack White is a god. Also for the older bloggers...every guitarist from the greatest band ever...Steve Gaines, Allen collins, Gary Rossington...geniuses all of em.

Charley Groth

Skill in an art does not always guarantee monetary rewards and yet a modest success, in spite of obstacles, is always more satisfying.

Re: Who is your guitar hero?

Are you Polk salad annie Tony joe White?

Re: Who is your guitar hero?

By the way I love this topic. I love how you get a few old timers who like to mention people you never heard of (LoL)!! I am considered an old timer as well (32), and let me throw out my old school pick that no one has mentioned yet. How about lindsey buckingham? Now getting back to the real question of hero, I have to go with Jimmy Page and Eddie Van Halen for two reasons. First off they combined skill with memorable riffs. For example Steve Vai is amazing, but to me he is so far out there that I can't remember any really memorable riffs, the dude just plays way to many notes!! Love the topic guys!!!

Re: Who is your guitar hero?

I know there r many guitarists that r probably more skilled than my guitar hero, but i like his blues and his time with Cream....

all in all i just like the way Eric Clapton plays. <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif" border=0 alt="Very Happy">
