Topic: Page encoding for view written accent

Hi! . I have posted some songs in my public song book. They are written in Spanish. However I can't find the way for encoding written accents in order to show right on the index page. I have tried to encode songs with utf8 and with iso8859-1 but in both cases page displays incorrect characters. ¿ Is there a way for it ?

thanks

Hi Freduki and welcome to Chordie,

Sorry to hear of your problem and although I do not know how to overcome it I spoke to Per, the Webmaster, and he is of the opinion that utf-8 should work. However ensure that your browser is set for utf-8 as this may not happen automatically. He did also add that there are some issues in the encoding and I am sure he will look into it as soon as he has the opportunity.

I hope that sorts it out for you as I have absolutely no idea what I have asked you to do lol

Re: Page encoding for view written accent

Hi Roger, thank you for the quick response.

I've tried your suggestions but I hasn't been successful. I think that the problem is related to extraction of titles and authors of songs. The song page looks correctly with UTF-8, but song book page (containing the index of songs) shows an interrogation mark instead of the right extended characters. Forcing encoding with browser options doesn't solved the problem.

Anyway it is a minor problem that doesn't prevent me from enjoying with Chordie.
