Topic: Help with a few chords please

Hello,

Wondering how to play these chords:

G/F#

G/E

A/G

A/F#

A/E

The progression is:

G   G/F#  G/E

A   A/G   A/F#   A/E

The song is BIG BROWN EYES by (you guessed it) Old 97's

Thank you

Re: Help with a few chords please

I would play G 320003,  G/F# 220003, G/E 020003

                   A 002220,  A/G  302220 A/F# 202220 A/E 002220 I'd play the F# with my thumb.

These are known as slash chords. The G(before the slash) is the chord. The note after the slash is an extra note played below the chord.

I see friends holdiong hands, saying "How do you do"
They're really saying, "I love you"

Me too.  I'd also play the G in the A/G with my thumb.

This is by far the best site I've found for this; very comprehensive and easy to use. They have variations on many of the chords so you can see which is the best for you and what's easiest within a chord prgression.

(They also have a very useful 'reverse chord finder' where you key in the finger positioins on the frets and it tells you what chord it is 9if of course it is one!).

Re: Help with a few chords please

playing the low f# next to the low b is going to sound weird. You might want to mute the a string.
