Topic: Recommendations

Hi people. I play regular pub gigs and I'm racking my brains trying to think of new songs to play. If anyone out there has any suggestions of new songs that might go down well I'd appreciate it. Popular newish songs I've tried so far are American Boy, Paparazzi, Empire State of Mind, All The Lovers.

Can anyone suggest something else?

Re: Recommendations

Welcome to Chordie.

Weighty Ghost
Pretty much anything from Bag of Toys
Pretty much anything from Todd Snyder - B-Double E-Double R-U-N ought to go over well in a pub.  Or "I Was Looking For a Job When I Found This One" if it's a blue collar pub.

- Zurf

Granted B chord amnesty by King of the Mutants (Long live the king).

Wow, I thought I was one of the very few who knew about Bag of Toys!!!  Love their stuff.

Zurf, you talking about this band http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLQC77Of … re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5kt5hN4M2c http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI9Q4r0K … re=related

Most people I talk to have never heard of them... Surprised me to see them in your post smile

[b][color=#FF0000]If your brain is part of the process, you're missing it. You should play like a drowning man, struggling to reach shore. If you can trap that feeling, then you have something.

To stay on topic, This one goes over really well in bars around here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXvgM4qthII  Most people are hearing it for the first time and the song usually brings a few laughs...

Yeah, that's them.  Mostly acoustic with some cool rhythms and topics that won't be offensive in the context of a bar (usually).

Re: Recommendations

Zurf and here I was thinking I might be the only Todd Synder fan on here. Your a yr late but a Band I follow called Goose Creek Symphony put on a thing each yr in Kentucky called Goose On The Lake, if I'm not mistaken Todd Snyder played there last year and at least one other I think. This even is right up your alley because it's outdoors on a private farm each yr, camping, great music, great people, no gates no police needed, just good people having a good time. Theres all kids of information online about it if your interested. Here's at least 1 link I think from Last Year http://goo.gl/05SW alsoheres a link to a Goose Creek song maybe you'll like them to http://goo.gl/P3S2Ghope you enjoy!

As to the original poster of this thread I'm not familiar with those songs you mentioned so I'm sorry I couldn't help, but Chordie is full of great songs from most any genre so jump in and start digging
