Topic: Exercise music - What's yours?

The other day I did my 1/2 hour on our elliptical machine (Demonic Dominater 2000) without music and nearly died as a result.  Emotionally speaking.  Today, I had the iPod going on a songlist I call "songs to be played loudly".  This is the music that carried me through the workout.

Rhumba Man by Jimmy Buffett
I'm a Man by Chicago  (lp version)
Oh Atlanta by Little Feat
Souled Out Holy Shoes by Denver and the Mile High Orchestra
I'm Just a Gigolo by Louis Prima

I barely noticed that I was exercising for 1/2 hour.  I maintained a slightly higher average speed and RPM.  AND I burned more calories.

I'll get real tired of hearing the same few songs over and over.  So what are your workout tunes that get you through?  Or the songs that get you moving emotionally if you aren't so much into the exercise thing.

- Zurf

Granted B chord amnesty by King of the Mutants (Long live the king).
If it comes from the heart and you add a few beers... it'll be awesome! - Mekidsmom
When in doubt ... hats. - B.G. Dude

Excercise with music is the only way to go.

I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.

Eminem or Big Boi, or a playlist of songs I'm trying to learn.

Black Sabbath War Pigs and Paraniod
Taj Mahal Leaving Trunk

If Leaving Trunk doesn't keep you going...nothing will smile

I used to be disgusted; now I try to be amused.

Excercise is for the energetic.  Music is for anyone.

While I'm doing 12 ounce curls, whatever is on the bluegrass station I'm listening to will suffice.

8gb of mixed bag on the ipod all shuffled nicely.  Running through the woods trying to sing American Idiot is always fun :-)

Re: Exercise music - What's yours?

Start with a moving slow song like Linkin Park "In the End".  Then after the warmup turn up the beats per minute up.... here's some makes you move types.
