Topic: dangers of restringing guitars

Hi guys
Had my first go at restringing my acoustic yesterday , all was going well until i decided to have a seat while i was doing it , went to stretch to reach tuners , obviously overstretched , chair started to slip next thing ended up in a heap on the floor !!  Luckily no damage done to me or guitar ! but guitar sounds much better now !!

Re: dangers of restringing guitars

I have not heard of this method before. I have heard that Banjo's sound better when they are thrown in a dumpster.
Glad to hear both of you survived this method.

Maybe you should try a seatbelt, LOL

Without rock and roll, there is no music.

Well I'm speechless. I'm glad you didn't throw your guitar around.

I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.

I hear Pete Townsend is a master of this technique! big_smile

welcome Onenumberseven to Chordie

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: dangers of restringing guitars

Pete Townsend slapped some guitars around in his day, didn't he?

Good to hear you & your instrument survived the crash ... a tense moment most of us have experienced. I once kinked a high E string at the tuning head, and had it snap under tension. Got a sting on the side of the head, but nothing more.

Tyson7 ... I hand't heard that comment referring to a banjo before, but about an accordion. Too funny!
