Topic: Anyone Using "Riff Station"?

Is anyone using the Riff Station software for learning music? I've seen ads for it on Chordie's home page from time to time, and looked around their site a bit last evening. Please let me know what you like and/or dislike about it.

Is it worth $50? Or is there something better you'd recommend?

Thanks everyone!

Re: Anyone Using "Riff Station"?

Dino ... I guess we're getting the answer we wondered about. Doesn't seem like any Chordians are using it. Here's a couple links that I've looked at, which you probably have too. One is a demo, and the other is a review by The Gear Page:

I guess I'll just have to break down and buy the thing to really see how it works. If it's useless, it won't be the first $50 I've ever wasted! (LOL)

Re: Anyone Using "Riff Station"?

I have seen the demos before, before you buy you might ask Russell Harding or Jerome Oneil.

Re: Anyone Using "Riff Station"?

I've been using Riff-Station for quite a while and find it very useful for getting the chords for a song by playing the Mp3 through it. Also you can get those chords in any key whilst it's being played in real time. There are other useful features and I think it's well worth the money.

Re: Anyone Using "Riff Station"?

Thank you NELA,  It's certainly helped me as I don't read music. I'm actually a keyboard player although started out on guitar and am now getting back into it. My claim to fame is that I went to school and played guitar with John Lennon before he formed The Quarrymen.
Once you have the song on the Riff Station screen you can then stretch it, change key, change tempo and find parts which aren't always apparent at first. Very useful software.

Re: Anyone Using "Riff Station"?

Thanks for the update on Riff Station, Spikey.

It's always good to hear from someone who has used something like this, and it's good to know you find it useful. I can't read music very well either.

Cheers!
