Topic: fingerpicking songs

Greetings
I enjoy picking out songs (badly it must be admitted) and good ones include and the band played waltzing matilda, wonderful tonight, Annies song, Leavin of Nancy, etc. Wonder if anyone has some suggested "picking" songs.
regards
Tim

Re: fingerpicking songs

Hi
A few suggestions

The streets of London   Ralph McTell
Tears in heaven   Eric Clapton
Blackbird   Paul McCartney
Romeo and Juliet  Dire Straits
Vincent   Don McLean
American Pie Ditto

The list could go on.
I think a lot of songs lend themselves to some picking arrangement just experiment.

Regards

Ark

Re: fingerpicking songs

I pick everything....mainly because I absolutely suck at strumming. But If you want to try something intersting try Billie Joel's " Just the way you are"  and "Time in a bottle"
(I can't remember who wrote that.)
If you don't have them send me an email and I'll send them to you. I don't know how advanced you are but once you get the hang of them they're really beautiful. Besides if I can do it anyone can!

Re: fingerpicking songs

Yes, I agree with all of those, especially Tears in Heaven and Blackbird.
I like the finger-picking in Here Without You by 3 Doors Down...
