Topic: NCD (New Cabinet Day)

The demon music store got me yesterday.

They have had a used 200W 4x12 Bugera  top cab sitting in the store for about 6+ months or so.  well I said give me a free cable and ill take it off your hands.  So $80 for the cab and 20 for cable and OTD for 100.  I also got another music stand because Paul ( his new name at work is Paul Prime since we just got another Paul! LOLOL)

So now its a 3/4 stack.  I tried making a tower but it was too unsteady, so the 2x12 cab is now behind the drums.  Cory has had a hard time hearing me of er his drums so that is like a monitor now, but im running the cabs at 4 ohms and in mono.

ill edit in a picture in a bit.

Re: NCD (New Cabinet Day)

oh, my glory days when I used to have a Marshall stack. It was a trannie amp but my Strat on 11 sounded so sweet. 100 of your dollars is around 75 of our pounds so that's one hell of a bargain. Did the shop get you or did you get them? Clever boy!!!!!

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: NCD (New Cabinet Day)

That sounds like a great deal, Beamer ... and NOTHING looks as cool as an amp stack. What kind of speakers are in the cab? Bugera's own, or something else? Here's a pic of Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson in front of his Hughes & Kettner "wall" with plastic dinosaurs along the top, and his Barbie Doll "go go dancers" in front of his pedal board ... a certified nut case! lol

Re: NCD (New Cabinet Day)

Good work, I picked up an old Marshall 4x12 for about the same price ...  added some wheels, but found it was too big for me - sold it a couple of years later for about $300 ...

That picture is awesome.
All those great amps and speakers you folks have sound amazing.

I have a Marshall and a Fender Frontman - both are plenty for me  anything bigger and my wife would put me out in the barn

Re: NCD (New Cabinet Day)

Nuttin' wrong with Marshalls or Fenders, TIG. You've got yourself the best of both worlds, i.e, some British crunch and some American twang ... nice set up. Glad you liked the pic of Alex. Hughes & Kettner is abbreviated HK, like the hunter-killers in the "Terminator" movies ... what's that tell us? big_smile

Re: NCD (New Cabinet Day)

I have several cabs but my new Fender Champ 100 is all the amp I need especially when I crank my Les Paul or Strat thru my Boss ME50 the walls rattle lol

Re: NCD (New Cabinet Day)

I have not pulled the back off yet to find out, I am assuming  they are the Bugera, by the age and lack of the Turbosound tag on the front, that's what I am guessing.  I'm thinking of swapping the two TS speakers from the 2x12 into the 4x12 cab on the lower two positions

Jamming out with my son this weekend, he liked having the 2x12 behind him.  Now I defiantly can hear myself over the drums.

Here is the try at the attempted stack

And this is what I settled on:

Re: NCD (New Cabinet Day)

That's a lotta horsepower you've got yourself, Beamer ... nice looking rig.

Re: NCD (New Cabinet Day)

Thanks guys,
moving the 2x12 behind the drums has really helped my son and me lock in.  I just need to make sure the ohms are set correct so I don't damage the amp.  That stuff is still foreign to me.  I think I have it set correct, and running in Mono.
