Topic: Banjitar or 6 string banjo

Just picked up a second hand Banjitar the other day one or two minor issues as it had been messed around  by some one who had no idea how to set the thing up.The tail piece had been bent and fitted wrong also it had been fitted with heavy gauge acoustic guitar strings .All pretty easy fixes.I also fitted some acoustic damping foam inside the head to make it play at a sensible volume as it was very loud .It now sounds much better and plays well .I may put a thinner low E on to give a better banjo sound but for now  I'm happy.

Re: Banjitar or 6 string banjo

Very nice! I've wanted either a banjitar or a banjolele for some while now. Mostly to play two songs - Rainbow Connection and Ol' King.

Granted B chord amnesty by King of the Mutants (Long live the king).

I've since  replaced  the   low   E  with   a  regular  D string   and  tuned  it  up  to  E   gives  a  better  banjo  sound .

That's useful information in case I ever buy one.

Nicely done Grah1, had me tapping my foot along.  Would also love to hear you play another song on this where you do some picking in amongst the strumming to hear how it sounds.

Also, you friend Mike was good at performing, good entertainer.

Re: Banjitar or 6 string banjo

Banjo guitar or banjitar or ganjo (Australia) is a six-string banjo tuned in the standard tuning of a six-string guitar (E2-A2-D3-G3-B3-E4) from lowest to highest strings. The six-string banjo was introduced in the late 19th century.
