Anyone Else Struggle With Chord Changes at First?
I've been teaching myself guitar for a little while, and I feel like my biggest obstacle isn't learning new chords—it's switching between them smoothly.
I can play most of the basic chords individually without much trouble, but as soon as I try to play along with a song, everything seems to fall apart. Either I miss the timing or I end up muting strings by accident.
I've watched quite a few tutorials, and everyone seems to have a different method. Some say to slow everything down, others recommend practicing the same two chords over and over, and some suggest just learning more songs.
I'm curious how you all got past this stage.
Was there a practice routine that finally made chord changes feel natural? Or was it simply something that improved with time?
I'd really appreciate hearing your own experiences rather than just general advice. It's always encouraging to know what actually worked for other players.
Thanks in advance!
