Topic: digital recorders

Hello,
I want to buy a simple but high quality portable digital recorder for practice, field and gig recording. I am using an old style mini Disc at the moment which is great for recording but takes ages (realtime) to upload to my computer. I have looked at the new generation MDs and the m audio micro track. Any help gratefully received. Thanks
