Topic: New Administrator - Guitardocphil

The observant of you will have noticed Guitardocphil had a new title after his name - Administrator. He is one of the most prolific contributors to the Forum and his prescence in this role will help keep the nasties at bay. I know from a private message to me that as well as being surprised by being asked by Per to take this on he is also very moved and I am sure he will not mind me quoting a few of his remarks from that message here amongst his friends.

"As for me I will stay the old weird gitaardocphil as before. I try always to understand other people"

"I owe a lot to you guys, you gave me a new destination, passion, something to forget my own problems: friendship, and love for music."

"I do hope to be able to give something in return",

"I am honoured, glad and touched in my heart. I repeat, I will not change, because I can't."

Welcome to the ranks of Moderators, Lieven,

Re: New Administrator - Guitardocphil

Well, I was surprised. It is still very early in the morning, I've been to the hospital on Friday, and you know all about my physical problems. The strangest thing was that I did compare this with the fact that I died twice, cardiac arrest, but they didn't want me in hell (even too bad) and not in heaven.
At first I was confused, there are so many QUALIFIED people, earning this more, I didn't refuse, and I made a promess.
- upyerkilt: you still can MODERATE ME
- SouthPaw41L: MODERATE ME TOO, because sometimes, I know myself, it can be 100% going to 10%
- Don Corleone: you are a great guy, I love your topics AND answers. More I think I even contacted you for New Zealand, because they need MD generalists there. There was SO MUCH I wanted to do, but destiny...glad to be alive. The cruise line thing: I was chosen too, for your country too,  and it was a very sad and hard period, because I start to live my life again, and if I am not able to work here, it will be the same in New Zealand.
One important thing is that , and I quote: You can call it dreaming, it helps me, my life phrase is, ...but I'm not the only one.
- Old Doll:I will always love you.
- Roger and James: BOTH OF YOU LEARNED ME A LOT.
- All other "chordians" who share the same passion.
I wrote I will always stay the same old weird gitaardocphil, I am happy and start to accept my limitations. Nothing changes in fact, because I will always advise. As a doctor I had really strong feelings, I knew almost what was going on the moment people stepped into my office.
Even when 100% sure about the diagnosis, I was not afraid to call in front of the patient, a colleague, specialised in Lungs, Heart.. to tell him if he agreed with me. This is the only way to tell that a team works better than an individual.
A question, proposition: Everyone here remembers "paranormal", and you see quit often youngsters with problems, and these events gave me since Juin a proposition, something, a place were they can discuss about problems, a kind of FEELING BAD topic.
Thanks to all of you, I wrote it 100 times: I owe a lot to chordie, because I learned a lot, and also, I changed a lot, it gave me the courage to do something else with my life, to live better and change some bad habits, like feeling myself useless.
There is so much more, that if I write everything here, it would take me a day.
My English has improved a lot, writing (75%), speaking (25%).
See you back on the topics.
Lieven PHILIPS (that is the "PHIL")

That is exactly what I will do here too, all together.

Selso, this answer is touching me. I repeat it, I am so grateful, and as far about "gitaardocphil" he still remains the same.
I helped so many people while still active as a DOC, and more and more do I realise that I get interested again. The help "thing" is still present, and I start to use it more and more, here on chordie. Sometimes it is difficult for me when I read what our young "chordians" write.
Also the financial problems, just because they want also a good guitar, and share the same passion. It is impossible for me to read this, without giving them advise.
My daughter who will be already 20 years on 24th December has the same character. We love each other so much, and it was difficult for me to do more things together, my mistake. My job was always number one, my private life, that's another thing. My skills, when still active as a Doc, are used to help.
Thanks a lot for all your nice and touching (me emotional) emails.

Phil,

Are you an ole' softy. lol.

With respect my friend.

The man does for the English language what a blender does for tequila, ice, and lime juice.  Yeah, it's all scrambled up, but it seems right when you finish it, and too much makes you feel funny.  big_smile

Re: New Administrator - Guitardocphil

yep boot, I am an old softie, who want to thank a lot of people. I am maybe soft, but hard too. I am certainly not afraid to show gratitude, emotions and not longer hiding myself. I am just a human like all of you, and maybe ...yes, if you go trough the same sh**, I went, your attitude changes 100%, more respect for life, for people I just try to be honest and correct, not afraid to show feelings anymore. I had to play long enough the though guy.
By the way, I would give everything I own (Bread) to see you writing in another language, try French, it is easier, that would be REAL fun, TRY IT and make me smile. yikes
All I wanted was WRITING IN PUBLIC how grateful I am to have a certain purpose in my live.
I just try to stay who I am, is this a crime???? Is it a crime to thank other people??

Re: New Administrator - Guitardocphil

Doc,

I tihnk bootlegger was paying respect to you that you show your emotions.

Ken.
I know, I tried to take a little revenge, I was busy to add some more, but buying busy like always, I wanted to add some more "tear jerking" stuff, and I swear on the head of my unborn children, that I deleted it. It is not the first time that this happened, and if it does, like 2 months ago, working so hard on a topic, searching info verifying sources 2 hours gone in 2 seconds.
BUT I have an important question, a question also important for everyone:

If you use words or phrase like Wikipedia, DO WE HAVE TO TELL OUR SOURCES? I have all the time now to look on the web for information. When do we have to add our source?.

Ken, you know that bootlegger is a man I respect for himself, his knowledge, his skill, and he is one of the people I really like. There are more people I like.
Boot, sorry, I just wanted to reply with an attitude of a school teacher.
You are all great.
To all of you : a sunny nice morning.
Just 1 question: I know, better you know that English is not my mother tongue and if I write something, please correct me. I absorb "spoken" languages, including dialect and this is an opportunity to learn more.

Re: New Administrator - Guitardocphil

Good luck my friend, you are unbelievable (or an unbelievable man)...
French is my second language. I learned more when I worked, having about 30% French speaking patients.
I can speak 5 languages, but writing is more difficult.
Belgium (a very little country), has 3 languages, we still don't have a new government since 10 juin. A clash: French part/dutch part. In Canada, they have similar problems.
