WHO IS ABLE to recognise the following situation:
- BANDS, when they play on the Radio, do you RECOGNISE THEM EASY, BECAUSE OF THE SINGER'S VOICE, SONG STYLE, GUITARSOLOS..
This is can be tricky, and amazing.
Examples:
- I always try to find out who is singing this song, and sometimes it is really difficult.
One of the best in "the examples" is Edwyn COLLINS with the song: A GIRL LIKE YOU.
I was convinced for a few days that this was DAVID BOWIE.
- There are other examples, like TOM FOGERTY, the poor man STARTED with CCR, at first TOM FOGERTY AND THE BLUE VELVETS, FOLLOWED BY THE GOLLIWOGS, where little brother JOHN started to conquer the BAND LEADERSHIP, continuing in a J.F. Ogerty dynasty (sorry JFK).
He has a few solo albums, which I have all of them, and EVEN the voices are similar.
- SANTANA: every song. (except for Supernatural ? NO because when he plays a solo, it is so "predictable"
- EAGLES: very easy to spot, and also their guitar solos have a typical sound.
- QUEEN: This is For me the NUMBER ONE in recognising the band. They have an incredible and unique sound; MERCURY and MAY.
- DIRE STRAITS, GO AND LISTEN TO JJ CALE. You will see where the "Knopfler sound" started.
see also CHRIS RHEA. Those are difficult examples.
- THE ROLLING STONES, they are easy to recognise, because they play the same kind of songs since 30 years.
- MY GUITAR PLAYS EVERY STYLE = BLUES, ROCK, METAL, so I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY IT.
