Topic: AMATEUR, SEMI-PROFESSIONAL, PROFESSIONAL : GIGS & CHURCH

How many of us started as amateurs and became semi-professional or even professional.
- How many of you performed already, for family, friends or in a bar?
- I read a lot about playing in CHURCH, my point is: can we compare it with a GIG with audience?
WHAT GUITAR IS USED IN CHURCH: AN ELECTRIC, an ACOUSTIC, OR ELECTRO-ACOUSTIC?
Here we don't have "playing in church"

- AN AMATEUR CAN BE REAL GOOD, AND IS NOT ASHAMED TO PLAY IN FRONT OF AN AUDIENCE.
- AN AMATEUR: A LOT OF PLAYERS PLAY IN A BAND, AND KEEP IT AS HOBBY, REHEARSALS. 
- STREET BUSKING, anyone?
- SEMI-PROFESSIONAL = EARNING MONEY TO PERFORM, but you can't make it a living.
- PROFESSIONAL = EARNING MONEY TO PERFORM & ABLE TO LIVE BY PERFORMING.
HOW MUCH MONEY GET'S A BAND, "MORE" THAN AMATEUR, PLAYING A FEW DAYS A MONTH?
I think I posted something similar, this topic is just as I like.

It would be so nice to see or know what level you are in.

I know, but on the other side, people in the US talk more about their incomes then here. When they knew that I was a doctor 90% just asked how much I earned to compare this with a medical doctor in the USA. Also the fact seeing movies, and the fact that you find a lot of other people's income, like a police officer, a soldier.
My question was not directly personal. It was more to have an idea what a band or performer receives by playing in a bar, or busking.
This was the reason why I asked this question
Was it wrong to ask what you find in your "hat", being a pretty good performer, and playing on a good spot, or to have an idea when you start to play for a bigger audience.
I was "blinded" and "fooled" by the idea that people living in the USA didn' bother to talk about it
So I'm really embarrassed SORRY again, I will probably delete it.
