Topic: any thoughts

met some people at the local open mic. they're fab. we are now in a band & i have shown them my own music, which our lead guitarist likes. Hopefully going to the recording studio soon to do a cd. not quite sure what i will do with myself/cd from there.the guitarist is ace & he kindly agreed to play along with me for my cd as i'm not so great at playing.i love our band,it's fun & i'm doing what i enjoy, which is singing.do you have any ideas who i should show my work to & what to do with my cd once it's recorded? <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_razz.gif" border=0 alt="Razz">

oh good something else I can answer, and probably a lot more people could give more advice than I can


Make sure your cd is good, well produced and get it out to radio stations, dj's, record companies, do lots of gigs, sell your cd's at gigs, have fliers everywhere to get the band name known.

The more advertising gives more "by word of mouth", which is the best form of advertising.

I think there is somewhere online that looks for new talent, but i might be wrong, try that too. Or do what that scottish burd done ( sandi thom ?) she went live on the internet thru a website every friday and got a lot of people watching her every friday. The artic monkeys became famous with the use of the internet.

So, also abuse your online status and get your music online, also youtube.

ye get some that are cut out for the job and others just get by from pretending

thank you, i do go to open mics but i pooh myself most of the time and then go wrong.i'm not so clever with the computer so not sure how i would put myself onto the site sandi thom went on.i will send my cd to all those places,just worried that people will say who the hell does she think she is,what gives her the right to think she's any good.people say they like some of my work, but are they just being kind and trying not to hurt my feelings. as you can tell i'm still unsure of my ability and get paranoid. thanks so much for advising me: (an english rose who's tying to bloom).ha,ha,ha,ha (god that last line was cheesy wannit, but i'll leave it there as i like cheese especially cheesy wotsits) ok i go now. ta again
