Topic: Newbie question

So I'm aiming my sights a little higher this time around and I am going to attempt Yellow Ledbetter by Pearl Jam.
  But Im stuck here....
e|-----------------9----------------9p7---------7--9---7p5------|
B|-----------------9---------------------7------7--7---5--------|
G|------------9----11p9--------------------8----8--8---6----6---|
D|-----9------9-----------11\----------------9--9--9---7----7---|
A|-----9h11-----------------------------------------------------|
E|--0---------------------------5/7-----------------------------|

                                   l

What is that 11\ mean?

I thought that meant Slide Down, but there is nothing after it....

Thanks in advance, this is my first post on the forums, so hello all.

Re: Newbie question

Welcome to Chordie, always2. I think you're right and it denotes a downward slide - I'd guess as far as you can until you hit the 5/7. You may have guessed I'm no expert on TAB.

All the best and I'm looking forward to more posts.

Cheers.

Is anything really made up of zeros and ones??

Re: Newbie question

Welcome to Chordie. You are right that is a slide but where to I don't know. It maybe a missprint in the tab

Re: Newbie question

I believe it slides to 13 there and then has a little muted strum/chop before continuing but I could be remembering wrong.... Have you checked out youtube for song lessons yet? I'm sure you could find one for this song that will carry you through it step by step.....

Re: Newbie question

give this a try http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1o7iTDLNTFk  looks like I was a little off with the muted strum comment above, that's more towards the end of the opening riff before you fall into the E, B, A, E progression....
