Topic: Thank You For The Days Cover

Hi folks, as you can see I am  a first time poster to this forum. After a rest of 40 years, I picked up my guitar and got my voice out of storage. I found it all very different from my times in the 60's and the  first few occasions that I stood in front of an audience I was so nervouse that I couldn't stop my leg from shaking.  Now some two years on, nerves have improved and I enjoy my regular performances at local folk clubs and open mics. I thought that you might like to hear a sample of my work.

Very good Tel.  We always like to hear others doing what they like.  It sounds good, some good strumming there.  A lot of us here have done the same thing as you.  Started young, put it away for many years then picked it back up and enjoy it even more.

You can see all my video covers on http://www.youtube.com/bensonp1000
I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.

Re: Thank You For The Days Cover

Great vocal quality man. What effect is that on your guitar? Bit of chorus or a phase?

Re: Thank You For The Days Cover

Hi Baldguitardude and thanks for your comment
Your quite right, the effect is a bit of  chorus on a Roland Mobile Cube amp. The guitar is a Westfield bowlback and the sound was recorded using a Zoom H1 recording mike plugged direct into the Roland.
I have a few other guitars but like the sound of the bowlback despite it not being the genuine Ovation.

Your voice is incredible - just my opinion but I think you could have gone for a raw sound and it would have sounded fantastic too!!!

Re: Thank You For The Days Cover

Thanks Baldguitardude. I take your comment on board and will try my next recording without any effect. Watch this space
