Topic: login password

Hello, I'm completely new and every time I try to log in, it says my password is wrong. Then I have to go through a lengthy process of changing it every time, and it's always something really hard to remember!........can I change it to something else when I'm logged in? I don't see a "My Account" button
Thanks
Lormill

Re: login password

Hi Lormill and welcome to Chordie,

Go in to your profile, and under your user name click on 'Change password'. Type in a the 'Old password@ you have used to log into Chordie then type in a 'New password' and then re-type in the 'Confirm new password' and then click on 'Submit'. This should change your password to something you can remember.

If you wish you can click on 'Privacy' in the 'Profile Menu' and tick the box 'Save username and password between visits' and then 'Submit. You will then be automaticalyl logged in when you visit Chordie but this is not to be recommended on a shared computer.

Re: login password

I forgot my password and followed the instructions to login and tried to change my password.  In the "old password" space, I put in the password sent to me by Chordie and it was refused.  I followed the process a 2nd time and the same result.  Can someone help?

Re: login password

Hi chaz,I hope I can help if not contact roger again,I have requsted changes a few times and they get sent too your personal mailbox at your server, once you see it there you follow the instructions and click the link to see your new password here at chordie. You do not have too sign in each time you come hear you can go to other things and never log off. Also watch for some of the letters too be capitols or regular. Keep it somewhere safe after you get on so you can look it up again.

Re: login password

Hi Chazmando and welcome to Chordie,

You really should write your problem as it's own topic as among other things it saves confusion. As you can see, Dino obviously thought that he was replying to Lormil, the original poster, when he said you should contact me again.

Anyway on to your little hiccup. You must have Chordie set to keep you logged in as you cannot comment on the Forum unless you are logged in and it is important at this stage that you do not change that. I can change your password without entering in the the old one so e-mail me (click on e-mail under my username) and we can easily sort it out.

Re: login password

Love and appreciate the site! I can login but want to change my password. I can't find my account or my profile page to change my password. Where are they please? It says it's under my login name but all I see under it is log out at the top right of the page once I'm logged in. I need to change my email address also and don't know what my original email was. Help Mr. Wizard!

Re: login password

Sorry. I just found my Profile page and changed my password and email. Thanks

Re: login password

Nice when you sort things out youself before we are able to help. I see you have been with us a while but lurking in the background, so welcome to the forum and don't be so reticent in the future.
