A legend - 3-finger banjo pickin' at its finest...

Hank's prosepctive gutiar player said: "Mr Williams, I'm not sure I can play for you, the onliest chords I know are C D & G"
Hank repleis, after a short pause: "Well, what else is there?"

Re: Bluegrass legend Earl Scruggs dies at age 88

Seeing him play at a festival in South Carolina 40 years ago changed me into a bluegrass fan forever.

RIP Mr. Scruggs

With Steve Martin and Vince Gill and others you'll recognize: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icMTVV5L … re=related

He had lost nothing - nothing at all - in the forty years since this recording: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xdn6htjkx0

Amazing player, and an amazingly bold musician.  I hope his soul finds peace.

He was absolutely a legend.  He will be missed for sure.

I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.

The man changed things, and was hugely influential.

Everyone knows what you mean when you say "Scruggs."

Someday we'll win this thing...
