Chord pro program for Windows or Ubuntu

Hello:

I purchased many years ago the original Chordpro program from the author out of Mexico. It is no longer supported and won't work under any windows versions higher than XP.

My questions are:
1. What program is available to type up songs in the chord pro format that will work with windows vista, or windows 7?

2.Is there a program like this that will work under Linux Ubuntu?
