Topic: Looking for alooking for a guitar

Hi all. It's been a long time since I've posted. After going through much finical and physical difficulty (wife got her back broken in a rear end collision) I sold off most of my gear needing the $. We finally got some internet back.
I'm looking for an acoustic for around $300.00. Used would be OK. Suggestions would be welcomed.

Re: Looking for alooking for a guitar

I would go into the local music stores and try the ones that were in my price range. The name on it means nothing as one for you will just feel and sound absolutely right.

Re: Looking for alooking for a guitar

Glad your back. I hope your wife is getting better. Check your local guitar/music stores and pawn shops, you will find one that speaks to ya. Try not to get hung up on "brand" names.

Live in the "now" - a contentment of the moment - the past is gone - the future doesn't exist - all we ever really have is now and it's always "now".

Re: Looking for alooking for a guitar

Nice to see you back butch.hope you wife gets better soon, you should get some kind of monetary settlement if she was rear ended. Lots of good guitars in your money range.good advice above. Yamaha and Takamine both make good less expensive guitars.

How was this originally posted in Feb. and we're just now responding to it?

Would love to have a Seagull myself. But you can't go wrong with a Yamaha. Love my Art & Lutherie too.

Keep Rockin!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Looking for alooking for a guitar

Epiphone, Yamaha, Seagull, Simon & Patrick ... they all make decent guitars in your price range. The only concern about buying second hand, is that you have to be able to see abuse or damage with a keen eye. If you are sharp this way, you can get a good buy if you're patient. Otherwise it's like buying a used car ... always wise to take a mechanic that you trust along for the ride.

Re: Looking for alooking for a guitar

I had a Seagull S6, I should never have parted from it.

Re: Looking for alooking for a guitar

I had a chance to play a seagull a few weeks ago.  I want one.  Check them out.  Check the pawn shops.  sometimes
they have no idea what they have and you can get a deal.

Hope your wife is alright.  I broke my back six years ago on the job so I know what she is going through.

That up there, what Roger said, is exactly the right thing.   Go play a bunch you can afford.  One of 'em will tell you her name.

Someday we'll win this thing...
