Re: favorite blues songs

All above good.  Some I would repeat, but there's no sense in that.  I'll toss out a couple more for consideration.

Big Legs, Tight Skirt - John Lee Hooker
Just a Little Bit - Magic Sam
Sweet Home Chicago - everybody
Too Hot to Handle - everybody, but I really enjoyed the Black Crows cover

- Zurf

Granted B chord amnesty by King of the Mutants (Long live the king).
If it comes from the heart and you add a few beers... it'll be awesome! - Mekidsmom
When in doubt ... hats. - B.G. Dude

Re: favorite blues songs

To many to list there are some good choices above. Red house stands out as well as La grange, still got the blues any thing by Eric Clapton, the Allman Brothers, Robert Cray, Johnny Lang, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, B.B. King, Albert & Freedy King, Jimmy lee Vaught, John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Reed, Johnny Guitar Watson And a whole lot of others.  If you have a chance check out Red House by Indigeous it is a good cover that smokes, Add Robert Randolph to the list also.

Bootlegger.

Re: favorite blues songs

Wanna add one more: Subterranean homesick blues by Bob Dylan

i live only to discover beauty. all else is a form of waiting

Re: favorite blues songs

I loves me some blues, playin' 'em most always makes the wrongs seem a little more right.   A few that come to mind are;

BB King-Nobody Loves Me But My Mother
Jimi Hendrix-Red House
Stevie Ray Vaughan-Life Without You
Robert Cray-Right Next Door
Albert Collins-I Ain't Drink I'm Just Drinkin'
Big Bill Broonzy-Key To The Highway
Muddy Waters-Manish Boy
Warren Haynes-Soulshine
Eric Clapton-Give Me Strength
Eric Clapton & JJ Cale-When This War Is Over(it will be a better day)
Van Halen-Ice Cream Man
Tom Waits-Ice Cream Man
Keb Mo-Suitcase
Grateful Dead-U.S. Blues
Johnny Cash-Folsom Prison Blues
Robert Johnson-Sweet Home Chicago
Alvin Lee-Bluest Blues
Blues Brothers-The entire Soundtrack!!

Ahhhh...I feel better just thinkin' 'bout these tunes.

Give everything but up.

Re: favorite blues songs

I agree with most of the above, does anyone remember 'Seamus' by Pink Floyd from the album 'Meddle'

I named my own dog after that song and he used to howl along with the track every time I played it, incidently in open G, I believe the original is in open D.

Anyway he's dead now and my present dog refuses to join in, ah well smile

Re: favorite blues songs

lol lol

I was going to add that song in my list as well, I dony know why I didnt.

If the dog doesnt join in, ye'll just ave to trade it in for a singing dog.
