A couple more things.

Amy, You left your cookie container behind with 8 cookies in it. I'm sorry to say that the cookies didn't survive but your container is setting in the dish drainer wishing it was filled again. smile

Here is a pic I missed last night.

When Zurf left at some ungodly hour Sunday morning, he wrote a little note for me and left it in front of the microwave.

Re: Pa. Gathering

Hey UJB
Awesome pics & vids, Looks and sounds like everybody had a great time, all the way around from the food, the socializing and most importantly sitting back relaxing and playing sum guitar. You got some good players over there, maybe one day I'll be able to join in for a weekend and just kick back.

Good job smile

Re: Pa. Gathering

I see seven videos so far.  I keep coming back every day...   no rush though.  I know it'll take some time to get them all up there!  Who had the sound recorder?  I wonder if they got any good recordings compared to the videos!  I was going to set mine up, but then realized I forgot the batteries.  I'm always forgetting something, at least it wasn't my mind this time!  Ha ha!

Gotta say it again, it was great. I'm still in awe over what a nice laid back weekend it was, and Joe is an excellent host!

I sent you an email yesterday.

I can't get anymore to load. I was hoping it might just be an individual file but I can't get anymore to upload. One will load but then won't process. Another one will load to 90% with 1 minute remaining and then stop. I even left that one run all night. 7 hours later it was still at 90% only it now said 23 minutes remaining. I verified my account with Google so I could load videos longer than 15 minutes but the longest one is just under 9 so that shouldn't even be an issue.

That was Peter. He usually sends me audio files of us within a day or 2 but I haven't heard from him yet.

Sorry!  Tech support was on strike earlier. They're back in action!  ha ha!

Can't wait to hear the sound files when he gets them to you.  Don't forget, you can always try out the free file options from Google smile  OR grab some photos and those sound files play with your new movie software (see your email for clarification).  big_smile

Got your email. Thanks.

The one that's giving me the hardest time is 8:25 and 750MB. That's almost twice the size of the hard drive on my first computer.

I'm going to load all the smaller files and then I'll play around with the Movie Maker. Yes it is already loaded on the computer. smile I want to get as many as I can uploaded before I venture into something unfamiliar.  I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to computer stuff. roll

I just emailed Peter about the audio files. I'll let you know when I hear back.

There are 6 new ones up now.

ETA:

Once everything is loaded I want to go back and put in the names of all the songs instead of the numbers that came off the camera. I could use some help in that department.

Looks like you guys 'n' gals had a terrific weekend! Getting to a Chordie get-together is on my bucket list, but it's such a doggone long ways away. Probably won't happen until I retire ... if that ever happens. big_smile

Re: Pa. Gathering

I have 16 of the 20 vids up. Half of them I don't know the name of the song. If someone (Zurf, Amy) would like to attach a name to a number I'll fix that.

19 = My Life Revolves Around Pee. It is the reason I don't write more songs.  After about 12 hours of picking, singing, and sipping, I was feeling pretty around about then.

15 = Dublin Blues written by Guy Clark

5 = Cold Day in July. I don't know who wrote it. I first heard it on The Dixie Chicks' album Fly.

I got the audio files from Peter today. Here's a link to the page where he hosted them. There are several that aren't on any of the videos.

Thanks for sharing these Joe!  It's interesting to hear these from the "viewpoint" of the recorder.  Sometimes it's wasn't quite in the middle, as we were all moving around.  Ha ha!  I like it!!

Given that the lyrics are unintelligible and everyone appears to be picking something different, maybe we should call it an "Ode To Jam Bands."  I'm pretty sure it's in G, D, A, or C, though.

Re: Pa. Gathering

Hi Joe,

You used the wrong address, a useful tip is that if it does not finish '.jpg' it will not work.

For the first one you used:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/25135718@ … 963776942/

You should have used:
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5806/217 … 2e6a_z.jpg

and then you would have show this dashing young man...

ha ha, good Picture of Zurf!

I love how this one feels like "early morning with a cup of coffee" -- but there was no coffee in that cup, and it wasn't early morning!  LOL!

(Joe, if you click the "share" button- it's an arrow- , then choose BBCode, pick the size of the photo you want to use, copy the code generated, paste here - and you can just leave everything between the [ img ] and [ /img ] tags and remove everything else, you'll get just the photo - or post the entire generated code and it'll keep the links to the photos and your profile also)

I'll play with both you and Roger's instructions and see which on is the easiest to figure out. Not sure how far I'll get tonight though. The Mets are working on wrapping up their bid to go to the World Series. 4-0 NY in the first inning. smile

My instructions would be identical to Amy's as that is what I did to find the correct address for the picture smile. I was being my usual brief self and hoping you be able would sort it yourself. lol

Re: Pa. Gathering

OK. I got the last video up. Actually I had it up but there was something wrong with it. It just froze with about 30 seconds left. The new version is up now.

Amy, I ran it through the movie maker software you suggested. Went it was finished uploading to YouTube I watched it and discovered the end of it was bad. I went back and watched it in the Movie Maker program and the problem was there too. So I then went to the original file on the SD card and there was nothing wrong with it. I ended up just uploading it right from the card and it came out clean.

This is it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1jg1ExA7RQ

Something I took notice to in all the vids where the drums were used; they really overpowered everything else. For future sessions with drums I'll need to arrange things a little differently, maybe muffle the drums a bit.

Now that the videos are up I want to work on a slide show with the still photos.

Re: Pa. Gathering

Strange, the file must have got bunked up when it was uploaded to the computer.  I'm glad the SD card had the original intact!  Glad it worked after all.  At least you can play with the slideshow portion of the software now.  smile

Yeah, the congas did overpower a little.  Didn't JIm or someone say something about putting a pillow in the bottom to muffle them a little?  That might work.  You'll have to play around with that during your group sessions.  smile
