Re: CurtJohn 3D Printing Shop

Am I right is assuming that these are all made on one of these new fangled 3D printer I keep hearing about? So everything is 'made to order' and there is no need for stock apart from the basic materials for manufacture.

I have to say I find this new technology fascinating.

Re: CurtJohn 3D Printing Shop

hmmm... quite fascinating indeed!  I didn't realize that there were options now available to have items 3D printed from metal and porcelain! Very neat.  The pricing structure isn't insane either.  I realize this is a shop that you set up like a "drop shipper" where you own the storefront and someone else does the 3D printing and shipping, right?

And of course, what a lovely advertisement you created.  I presume the background guitar music is YOU playing?  smile Thanks for sharing a bit of your non-guitar life with us.  Is this your main job?  Side job?  Fun side project to try to earn a little extra cash?  Do you primarily spend time making advertisements for others, or is the intent more to show about the site you set up?  Either way... the site looks neat, as does the ad!  wink

I'm curious about your post, because I myself have "work" - to make the money -  and then "side projects" - could make money, but are really just more for fun.  smile

Roger Guppy,

Indeed, there's no more stock! It's exactly a "made to order". :-)
I'm actually working with Shapeways because it allows me to have little profit on the models I made, without buying a 3D printer. I'm the "designer". So I don't need to think about the shipping, packaging, etc. I "simply" do my 3D objects.

If you're interested, here's the shipping cost:

mekidsmom,
Yes! I played the guitar and did the voices! It's really cool because I can mix my passion for the 3D and the music big_smile

It's a... How could I say... "No one wants me, so I try it on my own". I'm Belgian American (I, actually, only have the Belgian citizenship), my father is American, my mother Belgian. Belgium has a really really high unemployment rate, my area has around 25% of unemployment rate.
I'm 25 years old, I speak French, English, I'm actually learning Spanish at night school, and I know the basis of Dutch language. I learned Logistics... And... Nothing!? I have friends in the same situation...

I'm actually waiting my visa to live in the US, I know it won't be the goldrush, but I have faith in the US, and I'm quite sure it'll be a bit easier to get a job.
For example, I know there's only 5% of unemployment rate in the whole state of Virginia! (And Virginia is 3 times bigger than Belgium)
I'm not trying to be Director of the bank, I often applied for jobs like order picker (All work is valuable work), but I'm saying I tried everything and I'm still stuck with that situation.
I don't wanna talk about politics... But there's a lot of things going in the wrong way in Belgium. Things won't get better in my opinion...

I'm doing this for different reasons... :
- To earn extra-cash obviously. But even if I don't get a single dollar I do it for those other reasons :
- To prove I can do things : like 3D modeling, animation, etc. (and I have a basic computer, almost outdated).
- Speaking different languages.
- Shapeways is international : "Headquartered in New York, Shapeways has factories and offices in Eindhoven, Queens, and Seattle."
- Maybe someone nice would need my skills, it's just an open door to what I do.

Anyway, I think it's only positive. ^^

Thanks for your answers! smile
And thank you for letting me posting about my 3D printing shop. big_smile

Re: CurtJohn 3D Printing Shop

I have done the 24 European teams, USA and Colombia, I just need to do the 14 other teams.
I'm also working on a video promotion.
Typically, it presents the match you gonna watch (?) I don't know if there's soccer fans here!?
For those who don't know, the next Copa America will be host by the... *drum roll* ... USA!

So here's the video :
