Re: July 2016 Featured Song - Wagon Wheel & Down on the Corner

Ok here is my attempt at WAGON WHEEL.
I struggled vocally with this song to be honest, it definitely suits a male voice in my opinion .... I probably should have tried it in a different chord. I am also playing guitar on this one and I am re-learning guitar which I haven`t played much in years.  Ok, that is all my excuses over with wink and except to say, we need some females here having ago at these songs too smile
I changed the word  'Momma' to 'Baby for obvious reasons.
I have a friend of mine joining me, she is playing the harmonic and banjo bits.  My daughter is playing the Cajon.

Ditto Rogers Sentiment!

Excellent job Joe and Jan (and crew).  smile  How nice to get a few others to join in with you Jan!!!

Joe as always, your playing is infectious.  It makes me want to grab my guitar and play along.  You're a true entertainer all the way around.  (I hope there was a pick in your hand.  If not, I can see why your poor finger tops are in so much pain!)

Thanks everyone!

There was not a pick in my hand. Trying to figure out this new strumming thing. smile

Re: July 2016 Featured Song - Wagon Wheel & Down on the Corner

Roger .............  thanks for that generous comment and yes it was great to get the girls to help make this song more interesting and it was fun smile
Belinda is learning the harmonica and doing a great job of it.  I have to say, it was the girls who did well in this recording smile  I  honestly did NOT, the words came out  rushed, I couldn`t quite fit them in with the timing and they were unclear to hear in parts and overall not suited to me ..... it would have been nice to have had more time to rehearse it with the girls ..... maybe next time smile  But the main thing is ...........I had a go at it wink

I have recorded the other song as well which i will upload to sound cloud soon which the girls helped me with too, we did both yesterday when they were here smile

Re: July 2016 Featured Song - Wagon Wheel & Down on the Corner

Ok my second song ~Down on The Corner~  is on Sound Cloud.  Again the girls helped me do this cover.  Vocals/ukulele/kazoo by me, friend Belinda on harmonica, my daugher on Nicola on cajon and little wash board.

Had fun .... probably a bit too fast to begin with.

I saw you had a comment about more practice.  BAH!  Practice is for sissies!  Not when you can have your girls over and jam a while.  It sounded like you were having fun, and fun is what this whole music thing is about.

First off I want to thank you Jan for starting this thing.

Thanks Chordie for the years of music and advise.

Wagon Wheel. I tried to do a reggae thing (which I will eventually figure out) but for now just a chill jam.
