Topic: NGD. Not driving can`t stop me.

this time it is a Yamaha FG 110. Dusty and scuffed but still in good shape. A little thing like not being able to drive won`t stop me. The guy brought it to me. Got it for  $100. Some new strings and elbow grease will bring it back to life. Pictures on FB. (hint for the picture fairy). Thanks in advance.

Another great find, JJJ ... got to hand it to you. I've been trying to think of anything that might prevent you from finding / buying a good deal on a guitar. Been drawing blanks so far, but I'll let you know if I think of anything. big_smile

Re: NGD. Not driving can`t stop me.

I just restrung it. It will need a setup. It sat unused for around 30 years.  Gave it a quick clean. Will have to do a heavy duty cleaning on it in the future. As soon as I get a ride to a music store, I will take it for a proper setup. I am saving a lot of money on gas though.

It's hard top tell from the pic, but the neck looks pretty straight - if it hasn't been played for that long, usually I'll lemon-oil the fingerboard (depending on it's dryness, maybe twice, a week apart)  and if there is a large space between the strings and the 12th fret, tune it down to 'D' for a year or two, (so instead of EADGBe, go DGCFAd) with light strings, if the neck is buzzing, tune it up with heavy strings ... the old Yamahas also make good slide guitar with open tuning ...
