Topic: Mr Sandman

Well I am having a busy 3 weeks babysitting my 2 yr old grandson whilst his parents are overseas on holiday.  Today I have a child free day as he has gone to the other grandparents for an overnight stay, which gave me a nice little break.
So putting up this little number, an oldie but goodie.

Jan
Sounds teriffic!!

Your vision is not limited by what your eye can see, but what your mind can imagine.

Re: Mr Sandman

Jandle ... that's amazing! I smiled all the way through, and must compliment you on both your playing and your first-class singing. How would you say it "dowan unda"? That's aces, mate! (I've watched too much of Rex Hunt's Fishing Adventures)

Re: Mr Sandman

Loved it Jandle!  It's one of those tunes that stays in your head all day, I've been singing it since this morning when I first listened to you singing it.

Live in the "now" - a contentment of the moment - the past is gone - the future doesn't exist - all we ever really have is now and it's always "now".

Re: Mr Sandman

I love the way you covered a song has a real tricky vocal and made it sound great. Your playing and singing work a treat.

Re: Mr Sandman

As Pete says, it's a tricky vocal and masses of awkward chords. But You passed the audition lol. Specially the dum dum parts!

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: Mr Sandman

Tig .... thanks so much , appreciate the feedback smile

TF ... haha cool, glad it made you smile and thanks for the wonderful feedback.  "Too right mate, Chur bro, your sounding like a real kiwi bloke, got the hang of the lingo down pat,  sweet as" smile

bluejeep ... wonderful, glad it got stuck in your head, means my work is done  haha, thanks for the great comments smile

Peatle ..... thanks so much, it really is a fun song to play and sing this one, just bounces along smile

Re: Mr Sandman

This sounds great. I think Beamer has rubbed off on me because I was expecting to hear Enter Sandman, which is a different song entirely.

It did get me wondering if anyone has attempted an Enter Sandman cover on uke, which I shall now research.

Again, sounded wonderful!

Re: Mr Sandman

Beautiful! If you ever need a deep male voice to do that "Yeeeess?" part, I'm your guy. I alluded to it on SoundCloud, but my Mom and Dad also loved this one, originally done by The Andrews sisters, and when the band on my American Dad's Army Post would play it, the drummer, known to me only as "Piccolo" used to let me sit in his lap and he and I would play brushes on his snare. Great memories, Jan! Don't make us wait so long next time.

That also goes for another certain female Chordian - and you know who you are - whose singing I also love. We have way too many guys' songs and we need to even them out a bit.

Anyone else think so too?

Thanks!

Baldguitardude .......... thanks for the feedback.  It a fun song and that I like doing ............ have to say I don`t know the other song your talking about but I will google it now and have a listen.

Strummerboy Bill .............Thanks for the comments too.  How awesome for you, playing with Piccolo ........ is that where your drumming interest first came from?  That would have been a lot of fun and great experience.  Yes I can imagine, you would be great at the deep vocals with YES  smile

Re: Mr Sandman

Baldguitardude ............. after listening to the other Sandman song by Metallica , I realised I had heard it before, just didn't know that was the name of it lol.  And believe it or not, years ago (and I am talking years ago) I learnt to play some of that on guitar but never knew the words, only the instrumental ......I wouldn't even remember how to play it now a days lol.
