Topic: santa lost a raindeer

yes it's christmas time again, i'm not doing a song this year, just this little poem that came to me in the shower yesterday.

Santa Lost A Reindeer.          Phill Williams. 2/12/18.

When Santa lost a reindeer.
He called on all the elves.
We need to search the stockroom.
And all the toy filled shelves.
They started at the bottom.
And searched right to the top.
But no sign of the reindeer.
Will Christmas be a flop?

He called on all the reindeer.
Munching on their hay.
We've got a wayward reindeer.
They were concerned to hear him say.
They flew around the North Pole.
The ice floes with no luck.
They asked the seals and narwhals.
And they asked “what's the fuss?”
“Santa has more reindeer.
Enough to pull his sled.”
“Well thanks a bunch “ the reindeer said.
Then pooped upon their heads.

“Christmas eve's approaching.
Time is getting near.
The sled is loaded to the top.
We won't take off I fear.”
Then the stable door flew open.
The reindeer gave a shudder.
“Hello, “ he said, “ I'm still in time?”
“I've been to see my mother.”

I love this and laughed out loud. It is perfect.

Music is what feelings sound like.
Music is life, that why our hearts have beats.

Nice poem - extremely clever and witty

Your vision is not limited by what your eye can see, but what your mind can imagine.
Make your life count, and the world will be a better place because you tried.

Re: santa lost a raindeer

That one would make the grandkids laugh, Phill - especially the "pooped upon their heads" part. smile

I agree with Jim and CG, it's funny, clever and witty and the fact you came upon it in the shower proves a song or poem idea could hit us anytime and anywhere!

Hahahaha ... that last line knocked me on my butt ... so non-chalant. Good one, Phill ... thanks for the chuckle.

Re: santa lost a raindeer

Thanks guys. I read it to Ann who loved it. Haven't had a chance to read it to the grandkids yet, I think the youngest will love it? I'm thinking of sending it to my local paper though I'm a little dubious about the "pooped" line?

With the modern acceptance of so much profanity, I doubt the paper will have a problem with your polite scatological reference. I have a fishing buddy whose past tense for this is "shat" ... I roar everytime he says it, and he doesn't know why. lol

Excellent Phill the perfect Christmas poem it gave me a good laugh. I just read it to my neighbours little girl she loved it.     She even made up her own  kiddyJoke about Narwhals  eating Nar Nars when I told her  what Narwhals are.
