Re: 70"s

i've come to realize that country rock is one of my preferred music genres. this is a brilliant example of  just that. thanks for the reminder.

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: 70"s

Thanks, BadEye ...  a real blast form the past. In my high school yearbook, under the "Probable Fate" column they listed me as "Lead guitar for Bachman-Turner Overdrive". What's interesting is that I think it was meant to be an insult, because a lot of us in those days didn't think Randy Bachman was either a very good guitarist or singer.

But ... there's no arguing with his success or influence, so these days I'll take it as a compliment! lol

Re: 70"s

Badeye I liked Guess Who in their  day for their songs and also they introduced me to place names such as Saskatchewan.and Saskatoon. Slang  words for Motor Mechanics such as grease monkeys which eventually  crept into our Kiwi language.. One of my friends back then a smooth dude with the ladies we use to call Glamour Boy after that song came out.

Re: 70"s

Thank you that has brought back memories, Badeye down here in New Zealand we use to get  the Casey Kasem  American Top 40 on the radio.. Most probably when I saw the movie here in NZ,   -American Graffiti - is when I became aware of Wolfman Jack.  I never got to hear Wolfman on the radio down here in the South Pacific.. Guess Who - Clap For The Wolfman-  got regular airtime on the radio when it came out here but it was only because of Casey Kasem and American Graffiti that it eventually caught on here in the record charts.

Re: 70"s

Peatle
I just went to their (Chicago) concert last summer in Saratoga NY

They were very good. However it was disappointing in how the show was done.
I went expecting them to play all their hits etc......  instead they just played their latest album and a couple of past hits in the encore.
The other band was REO SPEEDWGON - they rocked the house - absolutely amazing.

Holy crap Badeye - that was awesome.
Incredible guitar solo - great music and unique voice.
Such passion in that song.

I'll bet everyone of the remembered each time they played it that night in the studio when they wrote it - at 25 0r 6 (26) to 4 in the morning!

Thanks for sharing - cool stuff man!!
