THE BOXES SIT PACKED

WE SAY THIS IS FOR THE BEST,
MY STOMACH TWIST WEITH THE FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN
AND OUT OF NO WHERE THE PRESSURE IN MY CHEST RETURNS.
YOU FOUND YOUR AND I HAVE FOUND A POSSIBLE MINE.
THANK YOU FOR BEING SO KIND THROUGH ALL THIS MESS.

I SIT AND NOT REALLY WANT TO BE AT WORK,
YOU WILL BE LEAVING AFTER MY RETURN
IM SO TIRED.
NOT JUST FROM MY WEEKEND ACTIVITY, BUT OF ALL THE PAST YEAR

I HAVE WRITTEN MY HEART OUT OVER THIS TIME
AND DID MY BEST TO TRY TO TURN THE TIDE.
I COULD NOT,

AND HERE I WRITE TO YOU AGAIN.
KNOWING YOU WOULD RATHER
READ HIS BOOK AGAIN AND AGAIN

MY WORDS MAY FALL FLAT,
I DON’T KNOW,
YOU DON’T HATE OR DISLIKE ME
A BLESSING I GUESS.

MY ARMS NOW SHOW MY LIFE BUT YOU ARE
NO LONGER MY WIFE.
ITS SO HARD TO KNOW, YET I WILL NOT ASK PLEASE DON’T GO,
FOR YOU LEFT SO LONG BEFORE
AT LEAST I CAN STILL HUG YOU ONCE MORE.

STILL…

Re: THE BOXES SIT PACKED

this reads as if you've finally reached closure? i must say it reads like a page has been turned and you've finally moved on as has she. having been there, this moment feels like the lowest point in your life and your words reflect that. to be honest it reads like a song lyric? be strong, i feel you have more to say, this well is deep.

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: THE BOXES SIT PACKED

Beamer your poem takes me back to a time many years back  and a similar situation with me feeling like  I had been hit by a train but also knowing that in the depth of my pain I would find a good place eventually to be. Reading your words I can feel there is a good positivity pushing you on. A very moving piece of writing. Stay strong.
