The Circle
By Scott Sailer       6/5/2019 1:46 PM

Jim Morrison once stated,
“A feast of friends "Alive!" she cried. Waitin' for me. Outside”
And to them, them that are invited to the feast,
Friends that are family, some tighter than true blood
True blood to thee I bequeath.

We keep our circle tight.
Don’t touch them or you’ll find a fight.
To some it is hard to let new blood in,
Others know in a minute, and can tell it as it begins.

Families break apart, and harden hearts,
Yet in the time of need, they will be there
To hold your hand when the time comes for you to depart.
And in your dire hours, they will still be the ones who care.

So if you become the one that is
Invited to this feast.
Take the hand of your new Sister, Brother or Lover,
And know this was not lightly given to be a small gesture
In the least.

Re: The Circle

This one is excellent and as good as any. Great work.

Music is what feelings sound like.
Music is life, that why our hearts have beats.

Re: The Circle

Seems to draw on Poe for me. Not sure why. Great job bud.

Re: The Circle

Hi Scott. I thought I'd already replied to this, apparently not so here are my thoughts;

Beautifully written in an almost classical style. shows deep thought and an experience of life. I've read this piece several times now and all I can do is applaud your writing and talent. Well done.

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: The Circle

High praise from all of you for sure.  Thank you.

i have new positive things to write about now.
