Re: Blues Friday New Page

CG
Her voice has definitely got Janis Joplin traits.  Sad story about her life .Lots of passion in her performances.
Thanks for starting off my friday with an infusion of superb rendition of Blues.

Re: Blues Friday New Page

Good one CG. Here I am thinking Janis Joplin has left the building only to find her voice been channeled through Cee Cee. I would love to go to one of her gigs.

Re: Blues Friday New Page

Wow, thanks for sharing those CG!  I could listen to a lot of her stuff and not get tired of it.
Sheers!

Re: Blues Friday New Page

I didn't listen to all your clips, CG, but the frequent comparisons between CeeCee and Janis Joplin are bang on. She's got a great voice, lots of inflection, and tremendous open vowels to power it all along. Great artist to feature this week ... thanks!

He's real good. Love the resonator guitar - I almost bought one once - then my good senses kicked in and said you can barely play a regular guitar - what are ya thinking !  smile

Re: Blues Friday New Page

Another terrific introduction to me, CG ... thank you.

As I listened to "Hard Time Killing Floor Blues", I was reminded somewhat of the Allman Brothers. The when I looked them up online, lo and behold others have made the same comparison. I wonder if fellow-Chordian Strummerboy Bill has ever seen them, since they're from his neck o' the woods?

Thank you. and also for taking time to listen to her. Anyone who maintains blues today I have a lot of respect for them. Her schedule says a lot about how good  she is and her playing without a pick sounds as as good as I have heard .

CG
In my humble opinion - she is the best you have posted !!!

She is very " Clapton like" !

Excellent guitar and a deep resounding voice with great range.
The last song Wicked soul is my fave - thanks for the turn on to great music!!!

Just keep'em coming my friend!

Re: Blues Friday New Page

She's terrific, CG ... another excellent post! I noticed she sometimes uses a Telecaster (single coil pickups) and other times uses a Les Paul (humbuckers). Blues musicians don't often use humbuckers, but she really gets them growling.
