Topic: DIY kits

I'm thinking about building some of the kit guitars. I've been really enjoying learning about guitar repair, and thought it could be an interesting next step.

I don't have access to or space to build a proper workshop or I'd consider going from scratch.

Check out the offerings at thefretwire.com. (I have no association with that site) There's a 12 string ES 335 style guitar and a Gretsch hollow body arch top style bass that look interesting. Plus a resonator and a dual lap steel...

Anybody have comments, suggestions, or experience with these kits?

I haven't built one myself, but I'm on a luthiers page on FB, and the guys on there are usually impressed with the quality/price point for PitBull guitars: https://www.pitbullguitars.com/

Not sure how that fairs against places in the US, but with the currently lower Australian economy, could be a reasonable deal for you...
