Richard

Sorry I missed this one - just happen to see it today !
That was excellent.  It is a very difficult song to sing !
It is one of the true country classics.
Marty Robbins had the horses in the back before it was cool.

Thank you so much for doing this cover.

Indeed it is!!
With the capo I don't know what key you're in but I do it in D and it presents a challenge. But that's the way I learned it and I'm too old and lazy to relearn it in another key. smile

That's no problems - I used to hear this played on the radio when I was a kid, I changed the key to suit me smile

Capo's on 3rd, and playing in 'C', so it's probably D# ....

Thanks to both of you for the feedback smile

Re: El Paso (cover) Robbins

Great version   Richard ,but  whenever  I  hear this  song   It always  takes  me  back  to  the   extremley  rude  version I   used  to  bang  out  in the  early  70s ,which    cant  be  posted  here   or  probably  any  where  , but   to  give  you  a  feel    for  it  ,It  started  "Out  in the  west  Texas  town  of  El Paso there  is  a Sh** house with  out  any  door " I'll  leave  the   rest  to your  imagination.LOL..I didnt  play  it  half  as  good  as you  do either .

Thanks - I put the start of that into a search engine, the first hit was the Marty Robbins video, the second was "Things to do in West Texas" ... make that what you will smile

Enjoyed that but I kept waiting for the trumpet to come in...lol

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Here's a video I took a couple of years ago of some buskers to satisfy your trumpet craving: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tROBac57qC0
