Topic: Political Road

our local govt/council has been ignoring infrastructure for many years
it`s all starting to fall apart,what little is done is done badly.


Political Road
They`re working on the road into the night
in the hope   that they just might
theres a political imperative
to get the work done
opened before the next election come
for theres votes to be had
at the end of the day
come hell or high water
the govt to get their way
so toil long and toil hard
get it finished before the due day
dont worry about quality
as long as its done
we can go back and fix it
when the election is won

EB, show how weird my mind works at times when I hear politicians talk about road infrastructure Neil Diamonds voice comes into my head singing.
The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows where

But I'm strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's my brother
Sometimes I also get that Canned Heat song playing in my head On The Road Again or even better Willie Nelson doing his  On The Road Again.
Maybe the Beatles summed it up best when they sung about the number of holes in the road in Lancashire.
