Topic: SEPTEMBER 2022 FSOTM – HELP …. HOUSE …. ROAD …. SEA

A big Hi to everyone this month of SEPTEMBER, it`s a change of season worldwide, the start of SPRING for some countries in the Southern hemisphere and the beginning of FALL /AUTUMN in the Northern hemisphere.

So, for this month of SEPTEMBER, looking for SONGS with any of the following WORDS in them.  The WORDS are   HELP …. HOUSE …. ROAD …. SEA.

It can be a COVER SONG or an ORIGINAL SONG, it can have one of the words somewhere in the song or more than one of the words in the song, heck it can have all 4 of the words in the song if you want.

I've got a song picked out - but my funny little honey is running out to get dinner tonight (we're both too tired to cook) and I need to get a shower.  Maybe I'll catch y'all tomorrow. It's just a fun little ditty written by Blake Shelton (or performed by, I suppose). The world won't be changed by when I record a September song.

neophytte, nice performance by you both.  Your son is doing so well joining you.  Is this one you have posted before as it looked familiar?  The only thing in this recording I would change slightly is maybe to have the piano a bit louder or maybe the guitar a bit quieter, just so the full effect of the piano could come through as parts of it was hard to hear the piano.  Otherwise nicely done and suits your vocals.

Richard and Uncle Joesband great to see your videos on here. I have had to more of less stop playing guitar a health thing. So I will put up a song I wrote three years back, "Mountains To Sea."  I hope it makes sense as it's about the weird way songs come to me sometimes.

Peatle, wow, I loved the lyrics in this one, quite thought provoking.  I see you wrote it back in 2019 and what is very cool as the lyrics are still relatable today.  A very heartfelt song.  I listened very much to the words which grabbed me straight away.

Thanks for the feedback; my son tends to hit those keys quite hard, so I asked him to turn it down abit, it might have been a bit too much as he also commented when he heard it that the piano was not loud enough. We used a single microphone so the balance is pretty much 'live' ... next time I might try with a recorder so I can balance out the instruments and voice.

Ah, I haven't heard this song for years!! Probably the last time I lived with my mum and she put on her old Glen Campbell albums, and it's been a long time since I lived with her. I love open mic nights, and sounded like you had a small but appreciative crowd there for your performance.

Good one Richard your guitar has an upright piano sound coming through which I like on this one. It's one of those songs in a pub singalong setting if people had a lyric sheet, I could imagine them singing along with you and it would sound great with your lead vocals and guitar as done on this video.

Very well done - I think there were a few times when you " let go" and sang like the boss!  Great guitar playing !

I think if you could have somehow increased the vocal and decreased the guitar it would have enhanced it.

In any case it  was a superb rendition o Bruce's song.

Just  had  a  listen to  Richard  on you  tube  nice  version of  a  Brucie  classic   just   a  little  too  loud  on the  guitar  in places  but still a  good  cover  .Well  done .

Thank you for the feedback; I'm slack and am using a single mic ... I should set up a mic for vocals, DI the guitar and record it on the Zoom, then mix it back later, but (as you can see at the end of the video where my son pops his arm out) my time boxes are limited. One day I'll get it sorted, I did do it previously a couple of times ...
