Topic: Engelbert The Cat

lately ive been writing lots of kid type poems, having a blast doing it.

Engelbert The Cat

Engelbert was a cat
he was black as coal
and he was a wee bit naughty
because he always stole
in his night time wanderings
around our neighbourhood
things had disappeared
from places he has stood
now you may think its funny
but not to the lady from next door
for Engelbert stole all her left socks
shes now only got right ones in her drawer
rags slippers and scarves
and today he bought home a hat
this is the life of living with
a kleptomania cat

Re: Engelbert The Cat

That is brilliant !  Love it !!
You should make it into a kids song!

Kleptomaniac cat. Truely inspired.

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: Engelbert The Cat

EB, it is time to get your illustrator man back to work and put your latest kids' poems into a book form.

Re: Engelbert The Cat

Well done easybeat and agree with Peatle, get some of these into book form with illustrations (you have done it before successfully) smile

Re: Engelbert The Cat

Brian,
your poem was read to the kindergarten class at my school. They thought it was hilarious
I added their teacher's name to the lady that had socks stolen.

So - get it frigging published !

Brian,

Do so !  That is brilliant stuff---- I'm telling ya the kindergartners loved it.
The teacher thought I wrote it at first and told me I should get it published - so it isn't just me.
The robot one was so clever as well !! You have a talent buddy, follow your passion!

Re: Engelbert The Cat

Ignore those nay sayers! They are most likely those that couldn't write a wrong let alone an hilarious poem like this. Listen to your friends on Chordie.
