Topic: One Hundred Trillion Cells

The human body is made up of trillions of cells, each with their own structure and function. Cells are constantly dying, and new ones are being made simultaneously. On top of that, the actual number of cells will vary from person to person, depending on their age, height, weight, health, and environmental factors. As I don’t have the ability to count the cells in my body I picked the number One Hundred Trillion.

           One Hundred Trillion Cells
After their gone around here there is always a song
A way of honour and celebrating what’s gone
Keeping us together
Keeping us strong
I said goodbye to many friends this year
Even though their presence might be distant from here
Some how there are parts of them still near
Close  to my heart though we might be apart
When I look at the skies I realise  we all move on from here
The universe is a thing of wonder
Many other people thoughts I have plundered
Not meaning to steal their thunder
The small things can often deceive
A universe its expanse so hard to perceive
I am just a dot in a picture a pen prick on a page
In the stillness of time I contemplate the things that star in my mind
When the storm rages
I look for an anchor that has been around for ages
Pointing my prow into the waves
I remember those who are now in their graves
Don’t worry about me
I’m not depressed just pushing on like the rest
I’m making the most of my life until my eternal rest
In my hours of darkness there is a distant light
That makes me not give up the fight
What drives me on is the 100 trillion cells that make up an adult body
As one year ends a new one begins
There are many possibilities an abundance in many forms that excites me

Re: One Hundred Trillion Cells

Peatle,
Great writing .....  we are all connected.

If you have never read the book" The Alchemist" by Paulo Goelho - I would recommend it.
It is an easy read - so simple, yet so deep.
Thanks for the post !

Re: One Hundred Trillion Cells

Cheers Jim, “The Alchemist" by Paulo Goelho  is  a book I haven’t read. I just looked it up on the internet it is a book judging  by the reviews that I would very much enjoy. So I will put that on my list of books to read in the New Year.
Thank you and Happy New Year
Pete

Here is a bit of a word play poem I wrote for fun.
Happy New Year to all you good Chordie folk

Professor Anity  studied humanity
Many knew him simply as Prof Anity
His wife Violet was also known as V Anity
Their son Steven was known as S Anity
There daughter India Naomi Silvia Anity was a famous psychologist who was also known as INSAnity
The conversation around their dinner table  was well know for all its Profanity
They also owned a tea company known as Annie Tea all grown and packaged in the town of Granity

Peatle, Happy New Year to you as well.  Good bit of writing on both of these.  One thought provoking and the other light hearted.  I liked them both.

Re: One Hundred Trillion Cells

Hey Pedr. I was away, as you know when you posted these, so I missed them. But not now I'm seeing them, I find them entertaining, funny, disturbing and very interesting,  well done my boy. How you come up with this stuff is beyond me. The hundred trillion cells led me to aplace I'd never thought existed, my own body! Genius,  no other word for it.

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: One Hundred Trillion Cells

Happy New Year Jan, I try and cover a lot of ground and different moods with my attempts at poetry.

Piri, hope your all refreshed for the New Year after your holiday.  My thoughts at times tend go off on all sorts of weird tangents. A big part of my relaxing time is spent reading I try and incorporate all these strange   things that fascinate me into my writing. Thank you for your encouragement and feedback.
