Topic: Easy Beat Add On 2

Easy Beat has put up "Songs I wish I Had Written". recently ' I like many songs so many that I can't put a number on here because there is too many. But one that lyrically made sense to me in the worldwide mainstream is this songs because it speaks to people in my age demographic grey haired teenagers.

Great song there Peatle, thoroughly enjoyed it.  Totally made sense to me too.  New to me too, hadn't heard it before.

I recognised myself and my aches and pains in there. Great choice there Pedr I couldn't have chosen a better statement of the ageing process. As Russell Harding says; getting old isn't for cissies, or words to that effect. Great song by the way.

Re: Easy Beat Add On 2

Well Peatl,

That was great song - pretty truthful and depressing.

My response to that  is this

Rage by Jim Kenyon

Verse 1

.

[G]I ain’t going gentle, no, [C]not into that good[G] night

[G]Instead, I’ll get it going, and [C]face the coming [G]fight

[G]Ain’t ever run from nothin’, no [C] nothin’ my whole life [G] long

[G]I believe in myself, so I’m [C]gonna make sure that I’m [G]strong

.

Verse 2

.

[G] Gotta be brave, believe [C] that you’re strong [G]enough

[G]can’t ever, ever. back down, [C]you gotta get mad dog [G] tough

[G]No matter what the problem,[C] you must stand and [G] fight

[G]The poet from Wales said, [C]Rage against the dying [G]light

.

Chorus

.

Yeah,[C] rage,rage, rage,rage - against the dying [G]light

Yeah, [C]rage, rage, rage, don't - go down without a [G]fight

yeah [C]don't,don't,don't, don't - go gentle, into that good [G]night

Yeah, [D]rage, rage, rage, don't –[C] go down without a [G]fight

.

Verse 3

.

[G]It won’t be easy, might be the[C] hardest thing you’ve [G]done

[G]might be blood and tears, and [C]might not be that much [G]fun

[G]we all know sooner or later w[C]ill come a time to fly [G]away

[G]but until that time’s a comin’, [C] I’ll be living life my [G] way

.

Verse 4

.

[G]Might not stay out all night, might [C]play my guitar kinda [G] low

[G]might sing a little softer, might [C]run those streets a little [G]slow

[G]if I see the sun rise, but [C]can’t watch it fade into the [G] sea

[G] Well have a drink and celebrate [C] life, and maybe think of [G]me

.

Chorus

.

Yeah,[C] rage,rage, rage,rage - against the dying [G]light

Yeah, [C]rage, rage, rage, don't - go down without a [G]fight

yeah [C]don't,don't,don't, don't - go gentle, into that good [G]night

Yeah, [D]rage, rage, rage, don't –[C] go down without a [G]fight

outgo

Yeah, [D]rage, rage, rage, don't –[C] go down without a [G]fight

Yeah, [D]rage, rage, rage, don't –[C] go down without a [G]fight

Re: Easy Beat Add On 2

Excellent feedback Jan, Piri and Jim thank you.
Jim your brilliant words are more of a reflection of the narrative running through my head rather than the lyrics on the song I put up by Derrick Dove&The PeaceKeepers.
Though there have been times when the song that I put up here reflects the temporary moods that I go through.
I think that band is from Texas but I'm not sure as they don't seem to get much airplay down here in New Zealand.  Though having said that I don't listen to mainstream radio much.
