you can choose your friends
but not your neighbours
with a bit of luck they`re one and the same
before i moved house
my nearest neighbours where
a prickly woman and a barking dog
my new abode is much the same
some nice people but not all
i seemed to have swapped
the prickly woman and barking dog
for a prickly man and twitching curtains.
A good band name Twitching Curtains. Whenever I'm out walking from now on passing houses I will be looking out for twitching curtains . Good poem.
Thank you Brian for making me laugh first thing in the morning. Last two lines tickled me, though I recognise the rest of your work too as I swapped one load of disrupters for another over the years, what can you do? Stuck between a rock and a hard place, the devil and the deep blue sea.

Hope things improve for you. So true, we can pick our friends but not our neighbors. Your sure it isn`t your electric, acoustic guitar amplified going full blast making the neighbors curtains move, twitch
