Topic: What was your most disasterous gig

Ok  I'll  start  this  one  off
Last  night  at   the  Horse and  Rainbow  in Kendal  a  pub I've  played  before  with  some  success.
Problem one . Mother nature   unleased  a  serious  storm   on the  North   of  England .
Problem two   Drummer   arrives   early   and    has  some   heath   issues   causing  him to  have  to  leave   as  soon as Bass player  arrives
Problem  three , I  arrive  and  try  to  contact  stand  in drummer who lives  local  but  he  is  also   ill .
Problem 4  Do   Ben and  I   play  as a  duo  or   make  our  excuse s  and  leave .
Result   we play   and  it  all  goes  well but  some  what reduced  in volume (drummers   are  noisy )
This  rates  as   probably   one  of  the  most  stressfull  gigs  since   coming  back  to  the  UK, however  the  absolute most disasterous  ever  was  when  we  were   cancelled   from   the  Matala   beach  festival in 2013  due  to   some  Pink  Floyd  impersonation band  taking  every bodys  sound  check  time  sorting  their  drum kit .
They  made  it  up  to  us  the  folowing  year  though

Re: What was your most disasterous gig

Most disastrous gig? Hard to pick just one. The one I wish I'd never bothered to go to was in Swansea at a catholic club. I had to play with their organ and drummer who were iffy at best. I made a joke which the priest didn't like, it was clean, but got paid off anyway. I have a few choice words which I cant repeat on here.

Another was when I played a gig at a caravan holiday park in mid Wales, they booked me back without going through the agent. When I got there they denied all knowledge and refused to even give me petrol money after travelling for 2 hours!

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.
