Topic: The Mustang

This is a poem I wrote several months ago, and it would be really cool if someone wants to put it to music. Have fun!

                        The Mustang
A stab of lightning splits the raging skies
And thunder echoes through the hills.
A wild wind whips through coal-black mane;
The fire of freedom lights the stallion's eyes.

His coat is marred by countless battle scars,
But still he stands, untamed and proud,
Undaunted by the storm's approach
And clouds above, which strive to hide the stars.

His flank still bears the mark, a large, white brand,
His neck the scars of well-aimed ropes.
They could not break his proud, free heart
Or keep him from this open, rugged land.

The lightning silhouettes his rearing form;
He paws the earth with angry hooves.
The west wind answers with a wail;
He snorts and throws his challenge to the storm.

Quitting is never an option.

Re: The Mustang

I agree - nice poem  great description
I thought at first that in order to make it to song - may have to transpose first lines to second to create a rhyme scheme.... but hey -
maybe we don't need a rhyme to make a great song = after all - he is a stallion !!!

Well Done Zippy !
( where do you hail from ? )
