hey Jim, just watched this and wow, really powerful stuff. the way you captured that feeling of losing someone to dementia while they're still right there in front of you... it hit me pretty hard honestly. my grandpa went through something similar and music was one of the last things that still reached him even when he couldn't remember our names anymore.

the melody has this gentle sadness to it that fits the subject perfectly. not overdone, just real. and putting it on youtube was a great move — this kind of awareness matters and more people need to hear songs like this that come from actual experience and not just trying to be clever.

keep doing what you're doing man, this one's special.

I love this song Jim.  I actually recorded it on Soundcloud years ago when you wrote it, it's still on there on soundcloud. I also video recorded it, my one and only video recording of myself performing any song, why?, because my mother had dementia and it reminds me of her when I sing it.   

Another song of yours that I recorded years ago and have still kept on Soundcloud was ~Theres Angles in the room~ because of my mother when she had dementia and if she had her memory would have loved that song because she believed in God and angels.

Love how you have put ~Creek don't run by my cabin no more~ together in this format, really good.  You must have added more and changed a few of the lyrics as slightly different to when I recorded it, but love it, awesome.
